Course Outline

Class 1: Introduction to Final Cut Pro

    •    Overview of the interface and workspace

    •    Understanding project settings and preferences

    •    Importing and organizing media

    •    Basic editing techniques (cutting, splicing, and trimming clips)

Class 2: Advanced Editing Techniques

    •    Adding transitions and effects

    •    Working with audio (adjusting levels, adding sound effects, etc.)

    •    Color correction and grading

    •    Using keyframes to create dynamic edits

Class 3: Storytelling Techniques

    •    Creating an edit plan and shot list

    •    Understanding shot selection and pacing

    •    Building a story using cutaways and B-roll

    •    Using text and graphics to enhance your story

Class 4: Finalizing and Exporting Your Project

    •    Exporting and delivering your finished video

    •    Finalizing audio levels and color correction

    •    Sharing your video with others (online, DVD, etc.)

    •    Tips and tricks for improving workflow and efficiency.

Throughout the course, students will work on various projects and receive feedback and guidance to help them master the art of editing in Final Cut Pro.
